• We have no user accounts, comment sections, newsletters or forms, and we never ask for your name or email address.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages and defend against abuse, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time of the request, and may keep access logs for a limited period. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read, how visitors arrive and which devices they use. It sets first-party cookies and receives data such as pages viewed, referrer, browser, device type and approximate location. We use Google's default settings; Google states that in Google Analytics 4 IP addresses are not logged or stored. We do not use analytics to identify individuals.

Advertising

Some content pages may show ads served by Adsterra, each marked "Advertisement". The about page, this privacy policy and the terms never carry ads. When ads load, Adsterra, its partners and advertisers may set cookies or similar technologies and receive information from your browser, such as your IP address, device and browser type and the page you are viewing, to deliver, cap, measure and personalise ads.

YouTube videos

Official trailers appear as a preview image with a play button. The preview image is loaded from YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com), which receives your IP address and browser details like any image request. The video player itself loads from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, only after you press play. From then on, Google may set cookies and process data under Google's privacy policy(opens in a new tab).

Cookies

The site itself does not need cookies to work. Cookies come only from Google Analytics, from ad networks when ads are shown, and from YouTube after you start a video. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state privacy laws may give you rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. Because we hold no account data, requests about analytics or ads are usually best directed to Google or Adsterra, but you can always contact us and we will help.

Children

METRO 2039 is rated Mature 17+ by the ESRB. This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
