What is the METRO 2039 Collector's Edition?
It is the top tier of three editions that Deep Silver announced when pre-orders opened. Deep Silver describes it as the way to "own a tangible part of METRO history". In practice, it is the physical Deluxe Edition plus one large collectible: a wearable replica of the Spartan helmet worn by the game's protagonist, the Stranger.
The official contents are the game disc (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) or a code-in-box (PC), the Wearable Replica Spartan Helmet, an Exclusive Steelbook, a Hardback Art Book, the Story Expansion DLC, a Digital Art Book and a Digital Soundtrack. The Specialist Pack pre-order bonus is included too.
Deep Silver says the edition is "available at selected retailers – while stocks last". 4A Games said in August 2026 that "the number of editions will be limited". How many will be made has not been announced.
The Spartan helmet replica
4A Games revealed the helmet on August 24, 2026 in a blog post and the teaser above. The studio calls it "a full-scale replica of the Stranger's helmet, carefully recreated from the in-game 3D model", with "integrated gas-mask components" and "scratches, scuffs, and other signs of wear".
It is sold only inside the Collector's Edition. Deep Silver's own suggestion is to display it or "wear it to your next cosplay event (or work zoom call)". Visitors to gamescom 2026 in Cologne saw it in person at the Deep Silver booth in Hall 9.1.
How much does it cost?
There is no official Collector's Edition price as of 2026-10-14. The figures in circulation come from three different kinds of source, and they are not interchangeable.
- Official digital prices: Standard $69.99 and Deluxe $99.99 on Steam and the Xbox Store. The Collector's Edition is not sold digitally.
- Retail listings (UK, as of 2026-10-13): The Game Collection £259.95 for PS5, Xbox and PC; Smyths Toys £279.99 for PS5 and Xbox.
- Leaked prices (unofficial): €299.99 and £259.99, from a Dealabs leak a few days before pre-orders opened.
- United States: a $299.99 GameStop listing is reported by a collector site but not directly verified by us.
The price page breaks these down by region and explains why the numbers differ. The editions comparison shows what the extra money buys over the Deluxe Edition.
Which edition is right for you?
| Edition | Format | What you get | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | Digital and physical | The game and the Specialist Pack (pre-order) | $69.99 digital |
| Deluxe (digital) | Digital | Game, Story Expansion DLC, Digital Art Book, Digital Soundtrack | $99.99 digital |
| Deluxe (physical) | Disc or PC code-in-box | Digital Deluxe items plus Exclusive Steelbook and Hardback Art Book | Retailer price; £94.95 at The Game Collection (2026-10-14) |
| Collector's | Disc or PC code-in-box | Physical Deluxe items plus Wearable Replica Spartan Helmet | Not confirmed officially; UK retail from £259.95 |
If you only want to play, the Standard Edition has the whole game. The Deluxe Edition adds the 2027 Story Expansion DLC and the art and music extras. The Collector's Edition only makes sense if you want the helmet as a display piece or costume item.
Where to pre-order
Digital Standard and Deluxe editions are on Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Xbox Store and the PlayStation Store. The Collector's Edition is physical and sold by selected retailers only. Known listings as of 2026-10-14 include The Game Collection, Smyths Toys and Amazon UK in the United Kingdom.
Deep Silver has not published a full retailer list for any region. Stock at each retailer can change at any time, and we do not track it. The pre-order guide lists the known store pages and what to check before you pay.
The game behind the box
METRO 2039 is a single-player, story-driven first-person shooter with survival horror elements, developed by 4A Games and co-written with Metro novelist Dmitry Glukhovsky. It is the sequel to Metro Exodus (2019) and returns to the tunnels beneath Moscow.
The Metro's factions have been united under the Novoreich, a regime led by the fanatical Spartan Hunter. The protagonist, The Stranger, is a recluse haunted by violent nightmares who is forced back into the Metro he swore never to enter again. Read more on the story page.
Deep Silver has confirmed a 60FPS Performance Mode with ray tracing on Xbox Series X, PS5 and PS5 Pro at launch. PC requirements are listed on the Epic Games Store; see system requirements.
