Metro 2039 Deluxe Edition: Story Expansion, Art Book and Soundtrack

Deluxe Edition contents: digital vs physical

Deep Silver sums up the physical version as a way to "complete your METRO 2039 experience with exclusive collectibles, a future story expansion DLC, and bonus digital content". The digital version drops the two physical collectibles and keeps the rest.

Story Expansion DLC

The main reason to buy the Deluxe Edition is the Story Expansion DLC. Deep Silver's pre-order announcement mentions "the Story Expansion DLC to be released in 2027", with details still to be announced.

As of 2026-10-14, its name, length, setting, characters and release month are not confirmed. Whether it will also be sold separately, or as an upgrade for Standard Edition owners, is not confirmed either.

Digital Art Book and Digital Soundtrack

Both are included in every Deluxe and Collector's Edition. Deep Silver describes them as "the immersive journey in music - the official game soundtrack and the gorgeous visuals of the concept art book", included "for both physical and digital editions".

The track list, file format, page count and delivery method have not been published. Deep Silver has also not said which composer scored the game. The only licensed track named in an official trailer so far is "Ugly & Vengeful" by Anna von Hausswolff, used in the June 2026 Hunter gameplay reveal; there is no word on whether it appears on the soundtrack.

Exclusive Steelbook and Hardback Art Book

The physical Deluxe Edition adds two collectibles: an Exclusive Steelbook (a metal game case) and a Hardback Art Book. They are the same two items found in the Collector's Edition. Artwork, dimensions and page count are not confirmed as of 2026-10-14.

On PC, the physical Deluxe Edition contains a code-in-box instead of a disc, but still includes the Steelbook and hardback art book.

Deluxe Edition price

The digital Deluxe Edition is $30 more than the $69.99 Standard Edition. In the UK, the physical Deluxe Edition is £40 more than the £54.95 physical Day One Edition at The Game Collection.

Where to buy the Deluxe Edition

• Digital: Steam, the Epic Games Store, the Xbox Store (including Xbox on PC) and the PlayStation Store all sell the Deluxe Edition. The pre-order guide links each store page.
• Physical: sold by retailers. In the UK, The Game Collection lists PS5 and Xbox Series X versions at £94.95 as of 2026-10-14.
• Physical on PC: Deep Silver's footnote says the PC physical edition is a code-in-box. We have not seen a UK retailer listing for a PC Deluxe box as of 2026-10-14.

Steam loyalty discount

Steam's store page says: "Receive 10% off your Digital Deluxe Edition pre-order if you purchased any qualifying digital game from the METRO series." Which games qualify is decided by Steam's own offer terms. The discount is for the Digital Deluxe Edition only, not for physical editions.

Deluxe vs Collector's Edition

The Collector's Edition contains the full physical Deluxe Edition plus the Wearable Replica Spartan Helmet. At The Game Collection the gap is £165 (£94.95 against £259.95, as of 2026-10-14). Is the Deluxe Edition worth it?

• Yes, if you want the whole story. The Story Expansion DLC is only confirmed as part of the Deluxe and Collector's Editions.
• Yes, for physical collectors on a budget. You get the Steelbook and hardback art book without paying for the helmet.
• Maybe not, if you rarely play DLC. The Standard Edition has the complete main game and the same pre-order bonus.
• Check the Steam discount if you already own a METRO game there.

Whichever edition you choose, pre-ordering adds the Specialist Pack, and the game launches on February 4, 2027.
