Contents checklist by platform

The list is the same on every platform except for the game itself. Deep Silver's footnote reads: "PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S only. PC includes code-in-box." UK retailer The Game Collection lists the PC version as "Collector's Edition [Code in a Box] (PC)" with the same helmet, Steelbook and art book.

Physical items and digital items

Four things in the box are physical: the helmet, the Steelbook, the hardback art book and the game disc (or the PC code card). The other four are digital entitlements: the Story Expansion DLC, the Digital Art Book, the Digital Soundtrack and the Specialist Pack.

How the digital items are delivered for physical copies has not been detailed. The Story Expansion DLC is not out until some point in 2027, so it will reach your account or console after launch rather than on day one.

How it compares with the Deluxe Edition

Deep Silver says the Collector's Edition "also includes the full Deluxe Edition of the game". The only extra item is the helmet. That makes the comparison simple:

If you do not want the helmet, the physical Deluxe Edition gives you the same Steelbook, art book and digital extras. The Deluxe Edition page covers it in detail, and the editions comparison adds the Standard Edition.

What we know about each item

The helmet

4A Games describes the helmet as "a full-scale replica of the Stranger's helmet, carefully recreated from the in-game 3D model". Its "integrated gas-mask components, custom details, scratches, scuffs, and other signs of wear" are meant to look as if it survived years in the Metro. Deep Silver lists it as wearable.

Steelbook and art book

The Exclusive Steelbook and the Hardback Art Book are the same items that come with the physical Deluxe Edition. Deep Silver's announcement calls the art book a concept art book but gives no artwork, page count or dimensions for either item.

Story Expansion DLC

The DLC is a story expansion "to be released in 2027". Deep Silver has not announced its name, length, setting or exact date as of 2026-10-14. Buying a Deluxe or Collector's Edition pays for it in advance.

Digital Art Book and Digital Soundtrack

Both digital extras are shared with every Deluxe Edition. Deep Silver describes the soundtrack as "the immersive journey in music" and the official game soundtrack. Track count, composer credits and file format have not been published.

The game itself

Console buyers get METRO 2039 on a disc for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, so pick the platform you will play on; a disc for one console family does not run on the other, and it needs a console with a disc drive (the Xbox Series S has none). PC buyers get a code-in-box. The game in the box is the same full game sold in every edition.

Specialist Pack

The pre-order bonus contains three blueprints for backpack upgrades: the Equipment Specialist Pouch, the Chemtech Specialist Pouch and the Munitions Specialist Pouch. You can only equip one at a time.

What is not confirmed yet

• The helmet's material, weight and dimensions.
• Whether the helmet is individually numbered or comes with a certificate.
• The size, artwork and packaging of the Collector's Edition box.
• Art book page count and Steelbook artwork.
• Soundtrack track list and format.
• The Story Expansion DLC's name, content and date beyond "2027".
• The PC storefront for the code-in-box.
• How many Collector's Editions will be made.

We will update this page when Deep Silver, 4A Games or a retailer listing confirms any of these. Every change is logged on the news page.

Unboxing and first impressions

There is no official unboxing among the METRO 2039 videos on the official YouTube channel as of 2026-10-14. The helmet itself was shown publicly at gamescom 2026, where Deep Silver displayed it at its booth in Hall 9.1 from August 27 to 30. The game launches on February 4, 2027; each retailer sets its own dispatch and delivery terms, so check the listing.

Until full product photos are published, judge the edition by the official list above rather than by fan renders or leaked images. Our site uses only original illustrations, never official artwork.

Is it worth it for the contents?

• Buy it for the helmet. Every other item is also in the physical Deluxe Edition, so the price difference is what you pay for the replica.
• Plan the space. A full-scale helmet needs a shelf or stand; its size is not confirmed, so wait for official dimensions if space is tight.
• Check your platform. PC buyers get a code rather than a disc, which matters if you collect physical media.
• Compare prices. UK listings start at £259.95 as of 2026-10-14; see the price guide before you commit.
