[METRO 2039 \| Collector's Edition Teaser Trailer (4K)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLpH-5cItUY): The official Collector's Edition teaser from the metrovideogame channel, published the day the helmet was revealed. Its description says the replica was "built directly from the in-game 3D model" of the game's protagonist. ## The helmet in brief **METRO 2039 Spartan helmet replica facts, checked 2026-10-14** | Question | Answer | Status | | --- | --- | --- | | Official name | Wearable Replica Spartan Helmet | Official | | Whose helmet | The Stranger's, the protagonist of METRO 2039 | Official | | How it was made | Recreated from the in-game 3D model | Official | | Scale | Full-scale | Official | | Can you wear it | Yes, it is sold as wearable | Official | | Details | Integrated gas-mask components, custom details, scratches, scuffs and signs of wear | Official | | Visor | The in-game Spartan helmet has a hinged visor; whether the replica's visor opens is not stated | Not confirmed | | Sold separately | No, only in the Collector's Edition | Official | | Production run | Limited; quantity not announced | Partly confirmed | | Material, weight, size | Not published | Not confirmed | | Numbering or certificate | Not published | Not confirmed | ## What 4A Games and Deep Silver have said 4A Games introduced the helmet in a blog post titled "METRO 2039 Collector's Edition — First Look". The studio wrote that it wanted to "bring a piece of METRO's post-apocalyptic world beyond the game itself". The result, in its words, is "a full-scale replica of the Stranger's helmet, carefully recreated from the in-game 3D model". The same post describes the helmet's "integrated gas-mask components, custom details, scratches, scuffs, and other signs of wear". These are meant to make it look as though it has "survived years of expeditions, battles, and harsh conditions both on the surface and underground". Deep Silver's pre-order announcement of October 13, 2026 calls it the **Wearable Replica Spartan Helmet** and "an authentic, beautifully crafted representation of the Stranger's iconic, battle-scarred Spartan headgear". Its suggestion for owners: "Display it as a prized art piece or wear it to your next cosplay event (or work zoom call)." The teaser's YouTube description adds that the edition lets fans own a replica of the helmet "for the first time in METRO history", and that the Stranger's helmet tells its story "through its damage detail, scratches and personal customisations". ## Why the Spartan helmet matters in METRO In the METRO series the Spartan Order are the Rangers who defend the Metro; Artyom's Spartan Order dog tag was even part of the Metro Exodus collector's edition. 4A Games calls the Spartan helmet "one of the most recognizable elements of the METRO universe and an essential piece of equipment" for anyone facing the post-nuclear world. The official teaser description explains the design: "With its hinged visor and trademark integrated gas mask elements, the Spartan helmet is an essential survival tool for an irradiated world." Every Spartan helmet has its own character, and the Stranger's is no exception. In METRO 2039, the helmet also carries a darker meaning. The game's villain, **Hunter**, is described by 4A Games as "the first Spartan himself", now the new Fuhrer of the Novoreich regime, wearing "a fascist perversion of the iconic Spartan armour". The Stranger's worn, personal helmet stands in contrast to that uniform. The [story page](https://metro2039collectorsedition.com/story) explains the setting without spoilers. ## Wearing it or displaying it Deep Silver markets the helmet for both uses. Before you plan a costume, note that its fit, interior padding, weight and adjustment options have **not been published as of 2026-10-14**. A full-scale helmet built for display can still be heavy or warm to wear for long periods, so wait for official details if comfort matters. - **For display:** plan a shelf or stand deep enough for a full-scale helmet. Keep it out of direct sunlight, which fades painted finishes on most collectibles. - **For cosplay:** check the official specifications once they are published, especially weight and head size. - **For resale value:** keep the outer box and inserts. Limited collector's editions are usually valued as complete sets. ## How it compares with earlier METRO collectibles Earlier METRO special editions sold at retail offered display pieces, not wearables. The Metro Exodus Spartan Collector's Edition (2018) had a 10.5-inch hand-painted Artyom statue, a replica Spartan Order dog tag, postcards and two patches, and it did not include the game. The only earlier gas mask came in the Metro Exodus **Artyom Custom Edition**, a set of just ten that was never sold. METRO 2039's helmet is the first wearable headgear offered in a purchasable METRO collector's edition. The full story is on the [past editions page](https://metro2039collectorsedition.com/history). ## Seeing it in person The public first saw the replica at gamescom 2026 in Cologne, which ran from August 27 to 30. Deep Silver displayed it at its booth in Hall 9.1, next to the first hands-on demo of the game. In its gamescom wrap-up of September 15, 2026, Deep Silver called the helmet "the centrepiece of our Collector's Edition" and promised to show more of the edition when pre-orders opened. METRO 2039 also won the gamescom award for Best Visuals that week. ## How to get one The helmet is "available exclusively as part of the METRO 2039 Collector's Edition". Deep Silver sells the edition through selected retailers "while stocks last". Its official price is not confirmed as of 2026-10-14; UK listings start at £259.95. See the [price guide](https://metro2039collectorsedition.com/price) and the [pre-order guide](https://metro2039collectorsedition.com/pre-order). At The Game Collection, the Collector's Edition costs £165 more than the physical Deluxe Edition (£259.95 against £94.95, as of 2026-10-14). Because the rest of the contents are identical, that difference is effectively what the helmet costs at that retailer. Deep Silver has also run a Collector's Edition mailing list since August 24, 2026. Signing up enters you into a competition for one Collector's Edition, which Deep Silver says will be drawn and delivered ready for launch day. ## Buying a helmet second-hand Because the replica is not sold on its own, any helmet listed separately is either split from a Collector's Edition or an unofficial product. Ask the seller for photos of the original box, compare the details with the official trailer, and be wary of listings that appear before the edition has shipped. ## What is still unknown - Material (for example resin, plastic or metal) — not confirmed. - Weight and dimensions — not confirmed. - Whether the visor opens on the replica — not confirmed. - Whether each helmet is numbered or has a certificate — not confirmed. - Whether it has lights or electronics — not mentioned anywhere official. - The total number made — not announced. We will add each of these as soon as Deep Silver, 4A Games or a retailer listing publishes it, and log the change on the [news page](https://metro2039collectorsedition.com/news). Until then, treat any specification you see elsewhere as unofficial. > This site never uses official renders of the helmet. The illustrations here are original drawings and do not show the real product. ## Frequently asked questions ### Is the METRO 2039 Spartan helmet wearable? Yes.
